HEALTH AND SAFETY AT WORK etc ACT 1974.
HEALTH, SAFETY & THE ENVIRONMENT POLICY OF
QG ARCHITECTURAL ALUMINIUM SPECIALISTS (Rev.
18).
GENERAL STATEMENT OF
POLICY
Our
policy is to ensure the health, safety and welfare of all our
employees. We will ensure that adequate control measures relating to
health and safety risks arising from our work activities are
implemented, and will maintain safe and healthy working conditions,
plant and equipment, and systems of work for all our employees. We will
provide such information, instruction and supervision as they
need for this purpose. We also accept our responsibility for the
health, safety and welfare of others who may be affected by our
activities.
We
will consult with all our employees on any matters that may affect
their health and safety; and also ensure that they are competent to
carry out their tasks by providing them with adequate training as is
necessary for this purpose.
We
will ensure the safe transport, handling, use and storage of all substances;
safe access and egress to and from company premises; and take necessary
steps to prevent accidents and cases of work related ill health.
We
will ensure that sufficient and adequate resources are allocated to all
employees in order that they are able to discharge their duties
competently, thereby ensuring the health and safety of all other
employees and others who may be affected by their activities, as well
as ensuring compliance with all UK and European health and safety
statutory provisions, approved codes of practice, and other standards
affecting the company’s activities.
Employees
have a statutory requirement under the Health and Safety at Work etc.
Act 1974 to fulfil their health and safety responsibilities. To this
end, we expect the full co-operation and support of employees at all
levels to share these commitments by complying with our policies and
procedures, and to understand that they have legal and moral
obligations to one another.
The allocation of duties for health, safety and environmental
matters and the particular arrangements which we will make to implement
the policy are set out herein.
The
policy will be kept up to date, particularly as the organisation
changes in nature and size and as new technology and processes are
introduced. To ensure this, the policy and the way in which it has
operated will be reviewed and if necessary revised at least annually.
Signed, on behalf of
